Lars Holllmer (1948-2008) was a Swedish composer, accordionist and keyboardist. He was a founding member of the influential "Rock in Opposition (R.I.O.)" movement with his band Samla Mammas Manna, founded/performed in a number of other bands, toured throughout Europe and the Americas and wrote a song that is a modern-day standard in Sweden (Boeves Psalm). Starting in the mid 80s and concurrent with his band work, he had a solo career where he emphasized his compositions and accordion playing and introduced many beautiful and exciting pieces into the modern accordion repertoire. "With Floury Hands (sketches)" is the final album by Lars Hollmer and was compiled by his son, this is the album Lars was working on before he died. Included is a professionally filmed DVD from a 2005 performance by Lars solo, in duo with bassoonist Michel Berckmans (Univers Zero), and one song with Miriodor, plus 30 minutes of extras. All of the recordings on the CD and DVD are previously unreleased and true gems in the catalogue of the underrated talent of Lars Hollmer.
